People

At Rabobank Brazil, we believe that sustainable development begins with people. As a bank with cooperative roots and a strong presence in the agribusiness sector, we invest in initiatives that promote social inclusion, education, culture, and well-being in the communities where we operate — including through our clients and their positive impact on society and the environment. Through strategic partnerships and projects such as fighting food waste, supporting the training of vulnerable youth, and encouraging cultural and sports production, we help transform realities and expand opportunities. Our commitment is to cultivate a better world, together, by generating a positive and lasting impact on people's lives and on the future.

Human Rights

Human rights are universal — they must be guaranteed to all people, regardless of who they are or where they live. Every business activity has implications for human rights: from how employees are treated to how land conflicts and labor abuses are addressed across supply chains. Both Rabobank and its corporate clients have a responsibility to respect human rights.

Rabobank outlines its position on Human Rights and Labor Rights in its Sustainability Policy Framework. In summary:

Rabobank respects all human rights of its employees and incorporates these principles into its business relationships. Furthermore, all clients are expected to respect human rights as described in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), to reflect these principles in their business decisions, and to influence their suppliers to do the same. In cases of unavoidable adverse impacts, clients must provide and cooperate in remediation through legitimate processes.

Internationally, Rabobank is one of the leading financiers in the Food and Agriculture sector, which presents risks such as land conflicts, labor abuses, and hazardous working conditions. These risks are addressed through sector-specific and thematic sustainability policies.
